Fair and Lovely Foundation Scholarship 2018 is an initiative of Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) which invites applications from the college-going girl candidates only. Girl students studying in coaching classes are also eligible to apply. The total number of scholarships to be disbursed for the year 2018 is 55. Interested candidate must have scored 60% marks or above in class 10 and 12 board examinations.

Who can apply for this scholarship?
  • Girl between the age group of 15 to 30 years who wish to pursue undergraduate or postgraduate courses in a government-recognized institution in India.
  • Girls who have passed class 12 (Science, Commerce, Arts, Others) and secured a minimum of 60% marks in class 10 and 12 board examinations.
  • The family income from all the sources should not be more than INR Six Lakh per annum.
  • The girl must be studying in any of the following courses to apply for this scholarship:

How can you apply?

The application can be done by following these steps:

Step : Fill the 6-step form.
Step 2: Provide personal details, academic details, reference details etc.
Step 3: The applicants have to write two subjective type questions in about 600 words describing themselves and why they have decided to pursue the chosen course of study and how this scholarship will help them.

  • Application: Girl candidates need to fill an online application form, where they:

  • Shortlist: The selected applications will get a percentile ranking based on merit, family income, streams and special criteria such as Physically handicapped, single parent, orphan etc
  • Interview: Based on the shortlisting, candidates will be selected for the final telephonic interview round, where:
    • An experienced panel of interviewers will take a small 10-15 minutes interview call with all shortlisted candidates
    • Interview language: Hindi/English & South Indian

2. Hindustan Times Scholarship 2018

Hindustan Times invites applications for Hindustan Times Scholarship Programme 2018 from students studying in class 5 to 10 residing in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali. The aim of the scholarship is to recognize and reward the brightest young minds.

This year’s essay topic: “Are we too dependent on our computers and mobile phones; if yes, how can we reduce the addiction?”

Who can apply for this scholarship?
  • Students studying in classes 5th to 10th in Mumbai
  • Students studying in classes 5th to 9th in Pune and Chandigarh

The winners will be felicitated at a special award function.

  • 60 students will be selected from Mumbai and will be given a scholarship of INR 50,000 each.

3. College Board India Scholars Program 2018-19

College Board – the non–profit organization that owns the SAT college entrance exam – invites applications for the College Board India Scholars Program 2018-19. The program gives an opportunity to top performers in SAT to get up to 100% tuition fee waiver. Additionally, students can also get an opportunity to take the sat for free this year. The academically talented but economically weaker students from India who score above a certain level in SAT will be designated as College Board India Scholars. The education of these College Board India Scholars will be co-funded by the College Board and India Alliance Members.

Who can apply for this scholarship?

Eligibility for 100% SAT Fee Reduction:

  • Be a resident of India
  • Be a student  in Class 12 for session 2018–19

Eligibility for full College tuition scholarship:

4. Abdul Kalam Technology Innovation National Fellowship 2018

Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) invites applications for Abdul Kalam Technology Innovation National Fellowship from outstanding engineers to encourage, support and recognize translational research and achieve excellence in innovation, engineering and technology development.

Who can apply for this scholarship?

To be eligible for the fellowship, an applicant must:

  • Be an Indian national working in India in different capacities of engineering profession at reputed public-funded institutions.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree and an adequate professional qualification.
  • Have minimum 5 years of service left at the parent organization as on the date of award.
  • Not be in receipt of any other fellowship. (If in case, the applicant gets selected, he/she has to opt for only one fellowship in the event of different fellowship applications.)

Terms & Conditions:

Award Details

  • Fellowship amount of INR 25,000 per month along with the regular income.
  • Research grant of INR 15 Lac per annum to be utilized for engineering, research and innovation activities including consumables, manpower hiring, national/international travel for research purposes, etc.
  • An overhead of INR 1 Lac per annum to the hosting Institute.

Note: As per the Government of India’s IT rule, the fellowship amount is taxable.

Duration of Fellowship: 
  • Initially, the fellowship is tenable for three years that can be extended up to two more years based on the performance of the fellows.
  • The maximum duration to hold the fellowship is 5 years.
Selection criteria:

A specially constituted search-cum-selection expert committee is responsible for the selection of fellowship winners. The selections of 10 fellows will be made periodically i.e. twice a year.

5. Tata Trusts Scholarship for D.Ed. & B.Ed. 2018-19

The Tata Trusts Scholarship for D.Ed. & B.Ed. 2018-19 is an excellent opportunity for students in Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra and North-East (Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura) to receive support in tuition fee and other related fees for pursuing D.Ed. & B.Ed. courses. Offered by Tata Trusts, this scholarship programme is open only for the current academic year.

Who can apply for this scholarship?

To be eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must:

  • Be a resident of either Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra or North-East (Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura).
  • Have scored at least 60% marks in the last academic year.
  • Be interested in pursuing D.Ed. or B.Ed.
What are the benefits?

The students selected for this scholarship will receive a fee waiver for tuition fee and other related fees paid to the institute/university.

Selection Criteria:

Based on merit, the applicants will be shortlisted for an interview. The interview will be either conducted in person at Mumbai or through Skype (candidates should create a Skype id if they do not own one).

Terms & Conditions:
  • The scholarship is open only for the current academic year and is applicable for studies in India (2018-2019).
  • Applicants need to upload the scanned copies of all the required documents.
  • Documents except the ones requested as well as unclear/manipulated documents will be treated as void. Hence, such documents won’t be accepted.
  • Candidates should be aware of the fact that Tata Trusts have no agents/intermediaries. So individuals claiming themselves to be associated with Tata Trusts and demanding a share from the grant should not be trusted. Such individuals must be brought to the notice of Tata Trusts Office immediately.
