Careers for English Lit Students

Like many other degrees, English literature students have several career options available as they fit into various fields due to their language and communication skills. In the process, their research and analysis skills are get brushed up. Given that English literature focuses on analysis, debate and critical thinking about a large number of published works such as novels, poems, plays and other literary works. The course work also includes creative writing and how to express ideas in a literary form. Therefore, it is a challenging course but can be immensely rewarding for those with a passion for English.

English Literature students who choose History as a subject will have a greater advantage. Others arts and humanities subjects like philosophy or journalism or psychology also are good options. Creative activities such as writing for a publication at school, staying well-read by developing an interest in different types of literature, or even writing your own blog can be an advantage.
